NEER is a cloud based Machine Learning Platform to help communities optimize existing water infrastructure and create an efficient system. It’s a tool that works for everyone, from engineers managing really sophisticated systems to communities starting to build new infrastructure.

Our Story

How It All Started

I grew up in a very small town in India that did not have running water. It was my responsibility every day to go and fetch water from the community well so my family had what they needed for cooking and cleaning and drinking.

When I came to the United States in 2002, I was amazed at how you could get water anytime, anywhere, just by turning on a tap. It seemed like magic. But when I became a water engineer, I realized that the magic was a lot less magical than it first appeared.

After 15 years of working in this field, I had a realization that In order to make sure our water infrastructure can last and be effective now and into the future, we need a simple, easy-to-use tool that communities and engineers can use to design, optimize, and manage their water systems.

It’s my dream that, someday, everyone will be able to access the safe, clean water they need … without ever having to think or worry about how it got there. Just like magic.

The People Behind the Tech

Neer was started by Elango Thevar – one of the industry’s true pioneers. It’s his vision to empower communities with proactive data-driven decisions about their water infrastructure so that everyone will be able to access the safe, clean water they need.

Raj Mani, CTO of NEER, is an information technology expert with over 10 years experience in developing high tech healthcare applications and is recognized as one of the leading experts in programming and predictive analytics. He graduated from the University of Madras in Chemical Engineering and holds a MS in Environmental Engineering from Oklahoma State University.

Matthew is an established and accomplished software developer with 5 years experience designing and developing systems for technology companies. Matthew graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
